Geno Teams up with Schools Across Connecticut to Fight Cancer

On Monday, November 17, 2008 Geno's Cancer Team and The Connecticut Association of Schools (CAS) announced their partnership to challenge the next generation to join in the fight against cancer.

Assembled at the press conference were elementary school children who cut their hair to make wigs for chemotherapy patients, high school field hockey players who held "Play for a Cure" games throughout the state, and middle school kids who filled shoe boxes with supplies for their peers. Connecticut Student Activities Conference

The Connecticut Association of Schools has added Geno's Cancer Team to their list of student activities on the CIAC website. We hope that member schools will answer the call to join all of us in the battle to end cancer.

Stories We Love

On Sunday, April 26, 2009 the University of Connecticut baseball and softball teams hosted their annual "Strike Out Cancer" day. They raised $3,030 to benefit the V Foundation.

The first annual Branford "Play for a Cure" Event, held April 29, 2009 was a huge success raising over $2,000.

The Thames Aquatic Club (TAC) hosted a first ever community service day on Wednesday, June 17th at Lott Natatorium at Connecticut College. The swim club wanted to make a big splash in the community by helping others. They chose to help the community in two ways.Continue reading.
